Subject E.L.A.

A Single Thought

“You told me every laugh is a new memory.” “Every tear holds a secret.” “Every miss is a step closer to a hit.” “But you never told me how much my heart would hurt without you.” Those were the thoughts that ran threw a Bella’s veins. Bella was a young girl with an unforgettable story. “So are you going to follow Bella’s story or turn back?”
“Have you decided?” “Good” “So let’s start from the very beginning.”
Hmmmm, there’s only one problem. I don’t know how to start this story. Well I guess we’ll have to settle for……. once upon a time there was a girl named Bella. She lived with her mother, and father and her two annoying sisters, who seemed to never have enough to say or to bicker about. So one evening Bella was walking in her garden that was filled with carrots, potatoes, lettuce, and worms. As she walked the sun began to set, and the clouds began to vanish in to thin air. Bella enjoyed walks in the garden, but this walk was not only because she enjoyed it. It was because she needed to set her frustrations free. She needed to walk it off. Do you want to know what happened that evening? I thought you’d say yes. She was up in her room sitting by the window all the way across the room. When she happened hear her two sisters reading her writing.

“The room’s dark.” “Light has disappeared”.” The light switch is out of sight, and so is my heart.” Said to giggle voices at the same time.

Bella stood up, and ran across the room. As she stepped out of the room she said “so you think that’s funny?” “Well here’s another one for you.” “My eyes become narrow.” My hate will haunt your heart.” “Now its time to run” Bella said it with so much abhor that the girls started crying and sobbing and letting out little yelps of sorry. Bella put her finger to her mouth and said “silence” “Next time you go through my stuff there will be no mercy.”

“Yes of course sister Bella” They said through there sobs.

Bella smiled and said “good” but when her parents Jorge and Hilda came into the room there faces instantaneously turned dark red.

With a voice that vibrated the floor, they turned there head to face Bella and said “ What did you do this time?”

A spark of anger that had disappeared had reappeared and relit the caldron of anger. She put her right foot a couple inches in front of her left, to show she would stand her ground as she said “They went through my stuff I got mad and told them next time there will be no mercy.” They said ok.” “I said good”

Hilda stepped in front of Jorge and turned her head which was staring at Jorge to Bella in one swift motion. And with a voice filled with anger Hilda said “Bella learn your manners”

Bella’s eyes narrowed and focused on only one thing, her mother. Her voice almost turned into a shrieking monster, as she said “Manners are only for people who are not trying to make a point.” “That’s something I learned from you.” “Or are you going to take back what you said?”

Hilda took 5 steps back as tears escaped from the back of her eyes. But Jorge stood strong. With complete and utter abhor in his voice he said “And exactly what
is your point?

Hilda took a step forward and through a squeaky voice of realization she said “ Her point is we blame every thing on her, and give her excuses just so we can bicker with her.”

Bella smiled but Jorge face got redder then usual. As he said “You stay out of this.” As he turned his head and gave a hateful look at his wife.

Bella walked right up to Jorge and said what he always loved to say to her. “The fire blazes orange. Heat radiates from the flames. It’s so peaceful, as the wood starts to crackle. Only if every night was like sitting around a fire, so peace full.” Bella moved toward the door on the opposite side of her father and just before she opened the door, she looked at him and said “It will never be like that here because you will never allow it.” She opened the door walked threw the entrance and slammed it. She slammed it so hard she could feel the vibrations against her feet. Bella didn’t have to think where she would go she already knew. And with in a second Bella was where she needed be, the garden. As she walked through the garden her thoughts became clear. Toughs thoughts where “Don’t tell me I’m wrong.” Wrong seems to be writing my song.” “That stops here and now.” “I am stepping up to the plate right now.” “No more frown.” “I’m looking up not down.” “It’s time to follow my heart.” “Before my life departs.” As tough’s thought ran through her head, she heard her name in the distance getting louder and louder. Finally her mother appeared with tears falling from her face. Bella jumped and then with sympathy asked her mother what’s wrong.

Hilda answered through her sobs “You’re fathers left; he said he wouldn’t allow keeping peace from his own family.

Bella’s knees hit the soft dirt where the potatoes grow. And as if it was an instinct her eyes over flowed with tears. That’s when the thoughts sprouted in her head. “You told me every laugh is a new memory.” “Every tear holds a secret.” “Every miss is a step closer to a hit.” “But you never told me how much my heart would hurt without you.”

Two months later the family received a letter saying that the police had found Bella’s father dead in a hotel room on 8th street. Bella never knew what it was like to lose someone but she did now.
